Marianne Shaneen is a writer and filmmaker based in Brooklyn.

She has read her fiction and poetry in venues all over NYC, including
the Poetry Project, the Segue series, the Zinc Bar, and Teachers and Writers.

Her work has appeared in presses such as Vanitas, Crayon, Detour,
The Hat, Snare, Beehive Hypermedia, and Faux Press.

Her chapbook Lucent Amnesis was published by Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs in 2006.

Her essays have appeared in publications such as Bomb Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail,
Manchester University Press, Interfaces, Stop Smiling, and the San Francisco Arts Quarterly.

She is currently a Bard MFA candidate in the Writing program at the
Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts. She is staff copy editor for Bomb Magazine
and a freelance copy editor for various publications such as The Nation.
